WHERE I STAND
Unfortunately, I cant vote this year, but if I could I would most definitely vote for john McCain. I have to admit though that I am not a die hard republican and I really base my pick on the candidate and not the party. I believe that McCain is an overall better choice for president because of the amount of experience he has in politics and the military.


ENERGY
John McCain's and Barack Obama's views on energy are very similar, because both of them agree that we need to end our dependency on foreign oil. While Obama leans more towards technology and science creating new types of energy, McCain wants to solve the problem with offshore drilling. I believe that Obama's ideas are good ones, but they would be put to better use in the future, because at this moment, the united states needs oil.

IRAQ
Both Obama and McCain want to stabilize the Iraqi government, but McCain is a strong firmly believes that it would be a grave mistake to take troops out of Iraq before Al-Qaeda is defeated. On the other hand, Obama wants to remove the troops, while still having troops battle terrorism on a non-permanent basis. Since, I am a McCain fan, I agree with keeping troops in Iraq and that it would be disastrous if we got out now. My opinion is based on our actions in the past. We backed out of Iraq in 1991 and 10 years later, look what happened. Removing our troops now, in my opinion, will cause further acts of terrorism in the future.
